The Kenya – UK Business Climate Roadshow day four was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Manchester City Centre, United Kingdom on Thursday, 24th March 2022. This forum was aimed at meeting businesses from Manchester to network and exchange ideas on investment opportunities available in Kenya.
The day commenced with a Government of Kenya Business Roundtable on Market Access / Market Entry and barriers to trade. In attendance were guests from NPH / Manchester including NPH companies, Greater Manchester Chambers of Commerce, African Business Chamber companies and business leaders as well as senior government representatives from both Kenya and the UK.
H.E. Amb. Manoah Esipisu, EGH, Kenya High Commissioner to United Kingdom highlighted investment opportunities in Kenya, including in tech and the digital economy space, agribusiness, traditional commodities and new market areas made possible by the strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.
Hon. Theo Clarke, MP, UK Kenya Trade Envoy, UK Government mentioned that she was delighted to attend the UK-Kenya Trade Roadshow to support Midlands businesses to export more & discuss how to create more jobs at home & abroad.
A Brief Presentation on Doing Business in Kenya & Investment Opportunities was made by the Department of Business Reforms & Transformation (DBRT) Kenya and thereafter the Keynote Address was delivered by Ambassador Kirimi Kaberia, CBS, Principal Secretary for Industrialization.
A presentation by the Vice chancellor for Kisii university Prof John Akama was made, followed by remarks Mr. Omarsadik Dahiye, Director Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry and there after the keynote presentation was made by the KEPSA CEO Ms. Carole Kariuki focusing on Blue Economy (Water, Maritime, Ports), Agriculture (incl. aquaculture), Energy (specifically focusing on Renewables, Low Carbon Transition and Clean Tech) and Education & Training.
A series of B2B meetings followed there after with the hope of establishing business relations as the roadshow ended.
