The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce hosted the U.S. - Africa Business Forum Dinner Reception on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 7:00 PM at The Ritz-Carlton Washington D.C, United States of America. The dinner was a welcoming event for the delegates ahead of the U.S.-Africa Business Forum that occurred on the sidelines of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit.
This year's summit, which began on Tuesday 13th December 2022, focused on deepening and expanding the long-term U.S.-Africa partnership and advancing the U.S.'s shared priorities, amplifying African voices to collaboratively meet this era's defining challenges.
KEPSA leaders who attended the dinner included KEPSA CEO Ms Carole Kariuki; KEPSA Vice-Chair Mr Jas Bedi; American Chamber of Commerce Kenya Chairperson Ms Brenda Mbathi and KEPSA Trustee; and Coca-Cola Company Director of Public Relations for Central, East and West Africa Franchise Ms Emily Waita and also the KEPSA Environment, Water and Natural Resource Sector Board Chair.
Attendance, as well as participation in the summit, was by invitation only. Some of the Kenyan organisation representatives who participated in the event included Equity Group Holdings CEO Dr James Mwangi, Kenya Airways CEO Mr Allan Kilavuka, Safaricom CEO Mr Peter Ndegwa, Kenya Commercial Bank CEO Mr Paul Russo, Trinity Energy Deputy CEO Mr Kenneth Mugambi among many others.
During the event, the KEPSA CEO met with Ms Nardo Bekele, CEO of AUDA-NEPAD, previously the UNDP and UN Country Representative in Kenya and a key supporter of KEPSA; British actor Mr Idris Elba who has been supporting African innovations; Amb Michael Ranneberger, the former US Ambassador to Kenya and currently a managing partner at Gainful Solutions (Consultants for US - Kenya businesses), among many other business leaders.
