KEPSA, represented by Mr. Timothy Odongo – KEPSA Business Hub Manager, participated in the 23rd Korea Food Tourism Expo in Seoul, South Korea. This was a follow-up to the MoU signed earlier this year between KEPSA and the Korea Food Tourism Association.
While attending the official opening of the Expo on the 27th May 2022, Mr. Odongo held discussions with Dr. Kang Min Su – President of the Korea Food Tourism Association on actualizing the MoU. Key senior representatives from the Korea Food Tourism Association present were Mr. Kim Gyeong In – Secretary General, Dr. Lee Yun Sub – Chairman of Food Tech Digital ICT Committee, Lee Gil Ju – Secretary General, O Bong Kyo – Secretary General of Food Tech Digital ICT Committee, Yang Dong Hwa – Head of Section amongst others.
Mr. Odongo formally presented the MoU to Dr. Kang Min Su as the MoU was previously signed in Nairobi by the KEPSA CEO Ms. Carole Kariuki. Mr. Odongo is scheduled to have several meetings while in Korea as well as conduct several market visits to familiarize with the market. One the immediate wins on day one of the visit was the assignment of a senior staff member from the Korea Food Tourism Association to work hand in hand with KEPSA towards implementation of the MoU.
The objectives of the MoU are to develop the following cooperative projects based on mutual respect and trust:
The MoU will serve to promote mutual development and common interests of both parties in Kenya and Korea and in this regard, the membership of KEPSA will be appraised of developments on the above objectives for their effective participation.
