Under the Private Sector Flood Response Initiative spearheaded by KEPSA, through its social arm, KEPSA Foundation, Executive Director Gloria Ndekei on 1st May 2024 pre-visited the Githurai area in Nairobi, where about 140 households have been put in a church after being displaced by the floods.
The visit comes ahead of the first planned distribution of food and non-food items to Nairobi's most affected areas, namely Mathare, Githurai, Mukuru, and Kibra, scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and over the weekend where we target to reach 1,000 households.
Among the partners facilitating this week’s distribution include the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Mama Doing Good, Chandaria Foundation, Shofco, Global Peace, and Team Pankaj Foundation among others.
In the coming weeks, more relief items will be distributed in other areas across different counties, as we aim to reach about 10,000 households gravely affected and displaced by the floods. Resources are being raised through cash donations via Paybill 880100, A/C 3380270063, and in-kind donations of food hampers, items, and dignity packs.
