KEPSA Chair of Economic Diplomacy, Mr. James Mureu met with the Oman Chamber of Commerce delegation and lead, Al Burwymi Governare Branch, at KEPSA offices on Wednesday, 6th March 2024. The Oman Delegation paid a courtesy visit to KEPSA to discuss opportunities for economic and trade cooperation.
In the meeting, Mr. Mureu highlighted how Kenya and Oman have had previous relations that have spurred partnership and growth in the agricultural, textile, export, infrastructure, transport, logistics, and food security sectors."Kenya and Oman have a competitive edge on each other that they can leverage on to promote significant growth and expansion. Kenya's geographical location, economic diversity, growing middle class, tourism, and potential are areas we can create synergies to collaborate on with the Oman Embassy," Mureu said.
"The good political goodwill between both countries can be used to drive trade promotion. With the existing innovation ideas in Kenya, Oman is open to having a collaborative arrangement on technology innovation Hub to upscale them," Mr. Mureu continued expounding on how Oman can take advantage of trade agreements and favorable trading incentives that Kenya provides to commence manufacturing of products and exports.
