On October 23, 2024, KEPSA representatives attended a Net Zero Tour hosted by Ambassador Peter Maddens at the Belgian Embassy on Limuru Road, Nairobi. This visit aimed to deepen KEPSA’s engagement with sustainability practices and explore Belgium's initiatives towards achieving net-zero emissions.
The tour began at the Embassy Chancery, with participants engaging in a guided walk through the Embassy grounds and on to the Ambassador's residence on Karura Avenue. Key insights included Belgium’s commitment to sustainable building practices, energy conservation methods, and the integration of eco-friendly solutions in Embassy operations.
The Embassy’s efforts align with global net-zero goals, offering valuable lessons for implementing sustainable practices within KEPSA's own networks. This visit fostered valuable dialogue on environmental responsibility and strengthened ties between KEPSA and the Belgian Embassy, furthering both parties’ commitment to sustainable development.
