KEPSA Energy and Petroleum Sector Board, in collaboration with the KEPSA ICT Sector Board, on 24^th February 2025, organized a site visit for KEPSA members at the IXAfrica Data Centre facility. The visit aligned with the sector boards’ objectives, fostering meaningful member-to-member partnerships under the theme "Collaboration Before Competition." The visit provided a valuable platform to strengthen industry connections, promote knowledge sharing and drive collective growth among stakeholders.

The engagement showcased the numerous opportunities that IXAfrica Data Centre, as a hyperscale data centre, offers to stakeholders in the health, banking, and ICT sectors. It also explored potential partnerships in advocacy, particularly in collaboration with the energy sector board.

Notable were the following;

• The need to partner with the Energy Sector Board in advocacy on the implementation of the Wheeling Regulations, 2024, to establish mechanisms in which private sector IPPs can offset power directly to the data centre and other entities.
• The opportunities for the health sector in data storage and digital records management aligning with the government’s digitization target of 2026.

The meeting concluded with a call to action to members encouraging a more united approach to resolving private sector issues and in driving private sector growth.
