KEPSA's Deputy CEO Mr Victor Ogalo met with Prof. Tom Kwanya of the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) on mapping out areas of interest and potential partnerships in implementing the second phase of the Skills for Inclusive Digital Participation (SIDP) project.
Held on 15th March 2023, the engagement presented KEPSA with a proposal to become an ally in expanding the project's footprint. The British Council (BC)–funded project aims to provide marginalized groups (youth, women, and PDWs) with employable digital skills as well as opportunities for self-employment and job creation.
The project targets various classes of the marginalized as well as communities, particularly those in informal settlements, and provides training at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels, as well as training for trainers.
Mr. Ogalo praised the proposal, citing that it is consistent with what KEPSA has been doing for a long time and with the government's economic manifesto. He shared on the Ajira digital project citing its successes including the successful digitization of 57 courts of law across the country. The meeting then agreed to hold a follow-up discussions to iron out the areas of partnership and mutual interest. KEPSA and BC will before the next meeting share more areas of potential collaboration to be included in the SIDP project or develop a new complementary project.
