On 11th August 2023, KEPSA signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), which will provide a general framework to facilitate cooperation between the two organisations. KEPSA was represented by the Chair Mr Jas Bedi who initialed the MOU on behalf of the CEO Ms Carole Kariuki in the signing ceremony that was held as part of the Kenya-Mozambique Business Forum, which took place in the context of the State visit of H.E President William Ruto.
The MOU aims at establishing institutional cooperation between the two parties for the promotion of trade and economic cooperation, exchange of experience and information on existing business and investment opportunities in both countries, joint holding of business forums and/or other exchange platforms between Mozambican and Kenyan businessmen, among others.
KEPSA and CTA will also work to reduce private sector fragmentation in policy, advocacy and business promotion within Mozambique and the Kenya trade and investment relationship, particularly through increased cooperation with third parties.
CTA also signed an MOU with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) to facilitate trade between Kenya and Mozambique.
CTA is a non-governmental organization, nonpartisan, whose mission is to contribute to the economic and social development of Mozambique, based on private sector growth promoting and protecting the business opportunities and private sector initiatives, culture and business associations.
