KEPSA SECURITY SECTOR BOARD MEETS NCTC TO ADVANCE PARTNERSHIP

KEPSA Security Sector Board, led by the Chairperson Ms Annette Kimitei, met with the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), led by the Ag Director Dr Rosalind Nyawira, on 13th April 2023 at the NCTC Offices in an engagement that, among other issues, reviewed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between KEPSA and NCTC that was signed in 2019.
The meeting deliberated on the areas of collaboration that include training and capacity building of private sector individuals which to date has seen over 10,000 individuals trained in counterterrorism.
As a way forward, the meeting agreed as follows:
- Review the previous MOU and come up with potential areas of collaboration.
- Sign a new MOU as the previous one which ran from 2019 to 2022 lapsed.
- Encourage more penetration tests for the private sector.
- Hold quarterly meetings to measure progress.
