On 24th May 2023, KEPSA co-hosted and participated in the Kenya - Ghana Exhibition and Business Forum. Ms Angela Ng'ang'a, the KEPSA Economic Diplomacy Sector Board Vice Chair represented KEPSA and moderated a panel discussion themed “Exploring the Strengths of Ghanaian and Kenyan Economies for Successful Implementation of AfCFTA” with a key goal to explore areas of complementarity and potential for growth partnerships between Ghanaian and Kenyan firms in order to create mutual advantages for the two economies within the context of AfCFTA.
Alongside the EXPO, Ghana launched a Trade House on Tuesday 23rd May 2023 in Kenya to promote trade ties between the two countries at the Sameer Business Park along Mombasa Road. The Expo which opened on May 23 will continue until May 27.
Ghana's Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Ms Dokua Asiamah - Adjei with Ghana Export Promotion Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mr Afua Asabea Asare graced the Ghana Trade Expo at Sarit Centre.
Ghana's Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry Ms Dokua Asiamah - Adjei said they are ready to do serious business with Kenya. "Our overreliance on trade with other continents has deprived us of many opportunities to increase trade amongst ourselves. I want to use this opportunity and occasion to reiterate that we're ready to do business with Kenya, and I mean serious business," Adjei said.
The Expo featured the participation of 70 Ghanaian and 20 Kenyan businesses representing various sectors from agro-processing, beverages, cosmetics, ceramics, garments, textiles and pharmaceuticals.
