On 28th March 2023, KEPSA held a coffee dialogue with the US Chamber of Commerce delegation in Nairobi. The KEPSA team was led by Mr James Mureu, KEPSA Economic Diplomacy Sector Board Chair while the US Chamber of Commerce delegation was led by Ms Kendra L. Gaither, Vice President of US Africa Business Centre.
The delegation was in the country to attend the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Business Summit and was interested in meeting their partners, KEPSA being one of them. Matters of interest in the discussion included getting an overview of the opportunities present in Kenya and the status of the business climate in Kenya.
KEPSA has a standing relationship with the US Chamber of Commerce where both parties have a structured engagement and understanding to increase trade and investments between Kenya and the US through joint coordinated policy, advocacy, and business promotion activities.
Mr Mureu led an exchange on the key principles underpinning international investment policies, strategies, and practices for sustainable development to achieve smart and inclusive global growth as well as advocating to have companies set up business and partner as development partners with companies in Kenya.
KEPSA and the US Chamber of Commerce agreed to come up with a framework to identify regular ways to re-evaluate the relationship and progress of the two institutions in the establishment of an increased basis of cooperation.
