On 1st August 2024, KEPSA Foundation met with OXFAM in Kenya to explore a framework for implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that the two organizations signed in March 2024. Ms. Caroline Kawira and Ms. Susan Ng’ang’a, from the management team, represented KEPSA Foundation. OXFAM in Kenya delegation was led by Programs Director Ms. Blandina Bobson, and included Private Sector Engagement Advisor Mr. Sakwa Masai, Natural Resources Specialist Mr. Hillary Kiodeny, Governance and Accountability Specialist Mr. Edwin Birech, and Monitoring and Evaluations Specialist Mr. Mikhail Ngasindala.
The discussion focused on how the two organizations can leverage each other’s strengths to co-create and implement initiatives of mutual interest, such as governance and accountability, empowerment of women, youth, and persons with disabilities, gender equity, and the promotion of sustainable environmental and conservation practices within the private sector. These initiatives aim to ensure responsible business practices while promoting socio-economic empowerment.
The partnership will emphasize on championing the development and implementation of policies and interventions within both the public and private sectors, with the goal of creating a supportive environment for vulnerable communities in employment and entrepreneurship.
