KEPSA Foundation led by the Executive Director, Ms. Gloria Ndekei on 7^th February 2023 met with the Office of the First Lady, H.E. Mrs. Rachel Ruto represented by the CEO, Dr. John Chumo and the Director of Environment and Climate Change, Mr. Julius Rotich. The meeting was held at KEPSA Offices. This is part of the ongoing consultative meetings for beginning working engagements with the new administration.

The meeting focused on the key priorities of the Office of the First Lady under the theme of “Mama Doing Good” and the areas of synergy with the Private sector.

Dr. Chumo highlighted the three key areas of focus of the Office of the First Lady as: -

1. Women Economic Empowerment that seek to upscale Women’s financial inclusion that began in 2009.
2. Faith Diplomacy that aim to bring cohesion and peace in the country through prayers, Mercy works such as school feeding programs.
3. Environment and Climate Change by implementing programs on waste management and environmental conservation through women led climate Change action

On her part, the KEPSA Foundation Executive Director Ms. Gloria Ndekei highlighted the four areas of focus for the Foundation as:

1. Climate change and Sustainability
2. Women Leadership and Children
3. Governance
4. Community outreach and networks

She further highlighted Foundation reflections for women and Children and climate change and sustainable business practices initiatives and their impact within the private sector and communities

The meeting agreed to collaborate in developing a framework of engagement towards interventions that will be agreed upon by the Office of the First Lady and KEPSA Foundation.
