On 29th August 2023, KEPSA Energy Sector Board, led by KEPSA Board Energy Representative Eng. James Mwangi and KEPSA Energy Sector Board Chair, Mr. George Aluru, met with a delegation from India led by Joint Secretary, Mr. Sumir Khumar from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The meeting aimed at establishing areas of partnerships in the clean energy space that would upscale the production and use of clean cooking solutions and bio-fuels in Kenya.
Eng. James Mwangi, in his remarks informed the delegation about KEPSA's position as a reliable government partner in advancing the agenda of global competitiveness. Specifically focusing on the energy domain, he underscored various promising collaboration prospects within the realms of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), Biofuels, E-mobility, and Green Hydrogen. These potential partnerships aim to amplify the adoption of sustainable energy solutions in the sector.
During the meeting, the Indian delegates gave the following proposals;
Joint Secretary Sumir Khumar, emphasized on the fact that viable solutions to these challenges are at hand, and the crucial means to unlock their potential lies in collaborative efforts.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment from both parties to sustain interactions, to further promote the adoption of clean and reliable energy solutions in Kenya.
