H.E. Neil Wigan commended the resilience of businesses in Kenya and the efforts by Kenyan enterprises in maintaining steady growth, even amid global economic challenges. The meeting discussions emphasized five major sectors for potential collaboration, including enhancing technological advancement and fostering innovation as crucial paths for keeping industries competitive and forward-looking. Furthermore, both Ms Carole and H.E. Neil emphasized the need for initiatives that champion green growth, by supporting the development of renewable energy sources, waste management systems, and sustainable agricultural practices. Additionally, the two organizations agreed to foster strategic alliances and joint ventures expected to open new avenues for growth. By facilitating access to the UK markets and providing support for business development strategies, the collaboration will strengthen the Kenyan economy and create job opportunities while remaining globally competitive.
Third, was a proposal to collaboratively create a nurturing environment for startups and Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) included providing mentorship programs, financial support, training workshops, and tech incubations. These initiatives will be designed to equip startups and MSEs with the necessary skills, resources, and networks to thrive and spur economic diversification, promote inclusive growth, and drive local innovation.
Both leaders underscored the potential of leveraging bilateral relations to create robust and conducive business environments.
