On Tuesday 29th November 2022, KEPSA CEO Ms. Carole Kariuki held a meeting with Ms. Nerea Musita, the Summit Director of Latin America, Caribbean (LAC). The LAC Africa Business Summit is a sustainable platform created to deepen the mutual understanding between Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, to demystify the existing prejudices between both regions, to create genuine opportunities, as well as share and recognize each other as possible partners.
The Latin America, Caribbean and Africa Summit is hosting its third edition in Africa in 2023, the first-ever, having been held in November 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya and the second being held in November 2017 in Argentina. The LAC Africa Summits' main aim is to focus on emphasizing south-to-south collaborations between the LAC and Africa Regions. It is through Trade that South-to-South Cooperation would be more beneficial to the citizens of the member states.
The Covid 19 pandemic had a catastrophic economic effect the world over, which set back a lot of the economic gains between both regions. Tough lessons were learned through the lockdown period, and businesses around the world have had to adapt, change ways of doing business and find ways to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.
At least 7 investment projects worth approximately USD 50 million were generated between the 2016 & 2017 Summits.
The 2023 TARGET SECTORS: Private equity, financing, aviation, energy mining, pharmaceutical, e-Commerce, ICT, commercial construction, agri-processing and tourism.
KEPSA will partner with the LAC Africa Business Summit to deliver value to its membership through partnerships as well as trade and investment opportunities.
