On 27th September 2022, KEPSA CEO Ms Carole Kariuki had a meeting with Japan Ambassador Okaniwa Ken at his residence, to discuss areas of collaboration between KEPSA and the Embassy of Japan in Kenya.
Ms Kariuki highlighted the vast investment opportunities in Kenya in various sectors of the economy which are usually showcased in various trade forums and can be accessed through direct investments or diversification of their markets of existing products and services through partnerships and joint ventures. She apprised the Ambassador of Kenya competitive advantage in strategic geographic location which allows travel to any part of Africa within 5 hours and the Port infrastructure of Mombasa and Lamu that allow ease in export and import.
The Ambassador noted that there is an upcoming 60 years celebration of the Kenya-Japan partnership next year which looks at showcasing the achievements including investments. He also added that a plan is underway to have a direct flight from Nairobi to Tokyo.
