KEPSA CEO MEETS GLOBAL CEO PROGRAMME FOR AFRICA LEADERS ON PROMOTION OF KENYA-NIGERIA BUSINESS TIES THROUGH AFCFTA FRAMEWORK

KEPSA CEO Ms Carole Kariuki held a meeting with Mr Collins Igwe - Regional Manager, Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED), Nigeria together with Ms Rita Kavashe – KEPSA Advisor and Managing Director, Isuzu East Africa Limited at the KEPSA offices on 25th October 2022. The meeting discussed ways to promote business between Kenya and Nigeria under the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The leaders belong to the Global CEO Programme for Africa, which brings together business leaders in a bid to co-create the African leadership solution. It emphasizes the roles, skills and competencies required for effective leadership in African organisations. This programme is delivered through a partnership between Strathmore University Business School, Yale School of Management in New Haven and Lagos Business School in Nigeria.
The meeting agreed to collaborate on the following;
- 1.) KEPSA, through the Economic Diplomacy Sector Board, will work to strengthen Kenya-Nigeria business ties under the framework of AfCFTA. This will be spearheaded by Ms Kavashe from the KEPSA side while Mr Ingwe will confirm the organization to work with from the Nigeria side.
- 2.) The partnership will progressively include more countries in the collaboration
- 3.) The partnership will link up each country AfCFTA office and AU private sector AfCFTA desk
- 4.) The relationship will steer business growth and leadership in AfCFTA
