On 7th April 2022, KEPSA CEO Ms. Carole Kariuki met with the outgoing Deloitte Limited CEO Mr. Joe Eshun and the incoming CEO Ms. Anne Muraya at the KEPSA offices. This was an introductory meeting between the KEPSA CEO and the incoming Deloitte Limited CEO as a build-up to future collaborations.
The leaders shared their experiences and some of the ongoing activities in their respective organisations. Ms. Kariuki highlighted various programs KEPSA is undertaking and the organisation’s availability to engage in areas within its capacity while urging Deloitte to participate in sectoral tax issues and other cross-cutting issues.
The Deloitte CEO showed interest in various projects like the Ajira Digital Program while applauding KEPSA for the Covid-19 vaccine drive that saw over 87% of their staff vaccinated. Further, the Deloitte team expressed openness to partner with KEPSA in different value-additional projects. Deloitte will soon launch Jenga na Deloitte initiative that enables SMEs to partner and add value. Ms. Muraya also highlighted Deloitte’s commitment towards the 2 billion tree planting campaign where the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in collaboration with KEPSA and other partners are rallying for support towards accelerating the achievement of the 10% national tree cover goal by 2022.
