KEPSA AND UNDP SIGN AN MOU TO ENHANCE THE PRIVATE’S SECTOR ROLE AND SECURE A MORE STABLE AND PREDICTABLE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

Thursday 24th November 2022: KEPSA and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) institutionalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of understanding (MOU).
The agreement was signed by Ms. Carole Kariuki KEPSA CEO and Mr. Anthony Ngororano the UNDP-Kenya Resident Representative. The MOU’s goal is to enhance the private sector's role in fostering inclusive economic growth, promoting investments and securing a more stable and predictable business environment that promotes youth employment and achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).
The areas of cooperation include:
- - Implementation of government frameworks that support enabling environment for doing business,
- - Multistakeholder partnerships for sustainable development,
- - Operationalization of private sector roundtables and economic diplomacy sessions with National and County Governments,
- - Bolstering of Kenya’s Private sector's role in regional trade agreements such as AFCFTA,
- - Implementation of SDGs investment opportunities and promotion of financing instruments that promote resilience building, and
- - Accelerating the pursuit of gender equality in the private sector.
