On 23rd April 2024, Ms. Carole Kariuki, CEO of Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), had a meeting with Ms. Zuhura Ogada, Chairperson of the Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), and Mr. Edward Oswe, CEO of MSK, at the KEPSA offices in Nairobi. Ms. Rose Mwaura, COO of KEPSA, and Ms. Stacey Mwende, Membership and Marketing Officer, were also present at the meeting. Its objective was to discuss critical collaboration areas, leveraging both organisations' strengths to enhance the effectiveness of marketing efforts in Kenya in driving the business agenda.
The meeting discussed strategies for leveraging the extensive MSK membership base by developing tailored membership benefits to attract new members and retain existing ones. The two organizations also explored opportunities for co-organizing joint networking events, forums, and workshops to foster dialogue and knowledge sharing among members. Furthermore, offering training sessions will enhance member engagement and provide exclusive access to industry insights, resources, and opportunities for professional development.
Forming strategic partnerships to address common challenges among SMEs and explore joint initiatives, such as certified marketing education and skills development, mentorship opportunities, and internship programs for aspiring marketers, will be crucial in bridging the skills gap in the marketing industry. KEPSA and MSK further resolved to work together to advocate for policies that support the marketing industry and business growth in Kenya while providing public awareness and education.
By harnessing MSK's extensive membership base and KEPSA's advocacy expertise, the two organizations will continue working together to drive positive change and innovation in the marketing industry. Moving forward, MSK and KEPSA will continue exploring joint initiatives and partnerships to advance the interests of marketers and businesses in Kenya.
