On 20th January 2023, KEPSA held an engagement with Cellulant, a leading Pan African payments company that provides locally relevant and alternative payment methods for global, regional and local merchants. The meeting, which was hosted at Cellulant Offices in Nairobi, aimed at deliberating possible partnerships between KEPSA and Cellulant in improving business solutions.
Present during the meeting were Mr Victor Ogalo, KEPSA Deputy CEO; Ms Faith Nkatha Gitonga, Cellulant Country Manager, Kenya; Ms Stacey Mwende, KEPSA Membership and Marketing; Ms Anne Murage, Cellulant Sales & Account Manager and Ms Maureen Mugi, Cellulant Events Manager.
The meeting discussed Cellulant’s business model and products and how the company could benefit as a member of KEPSA. The company operates in 35 countries in Africa with a physical presence in 18 countries.
In his remarks, Mr Ogalo noted some of the initiatives KEPSA has undertaken including the E-Commerce Booster Program that aimed to onboard small businesses to e-commerce to increase and diversify their revenue streams during and after the COVID-19 period. He outlined KEPSA’s willingness to collaborate with other partners in providing business solutions and a conducive operating environment.
Ms Nkatha, on her part, highlighted various business solutions that the company provides while adding that the company utilizes its extensive integration across Africa to provide multinational and local businesses with a one-stop-shop solution to payment needs.
As a way forward, the meeting arrived at exploring partnership opportunities especially within the county government through the Devolution Conference and developing a partnership to scale up Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises by proving them with fintech solutions.
