The Ajira Digital program continues to empower young people in Kenya to access dignified digital job opportunities. The scope of the program is not only limited to those with a tech background but also transcends different sectors. The story of Janeshyleen is not any different, from Health systems management to the world of online work, this is her Ajira story.
My name is Janeshyleen Gatua, a Salesforce Administrator in training with a background in healthcare and eight years of experience in both the healthcare sector and the tech industry. I hold a Higher National Diploma in Health Systems Management in addition to certifications in Virtual Assistance, AI Career Essentials, and Digital Marketing.
I fully transitioned into the tech industry in August 2024 after recognizing the growing opportunities in the gig economy. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with several tech companies, including ALX, Sand Technologies, Rwazi, and Twiva. I am currently a student at ALX, where I am pursuing Salesforce Administrator training to expand my expertise in the field of marketing.
I first learned about the Ajira Digital Program through my brother, who highlighted its various benefits, including career support. This motivated me to create a profile on the platform, which has helped me unlock numerous opportunities. Through Ajira, I have been introduced to job boards and companies like Brighter Monday and Propel, providing access to job openings both locally and globally. The program has enabled me to achieve financial independence.
To young professionals, I highly recommend joining the Ajira Digital Program. This is because it offers free learning materials, valuable resources, and job opportunities that can help kickstart or advance your career in the digital space.
