My name is Evelyne Karimi, and I am the founder of Posh Abodes, a business that specializes in selling household items and home decorations. For the past year and a half, I’ve been building my business, and in September, I was fortunate to secure funding that has made a huge difference. 

Before that, I attended the KEPSA Investor Readiness Training in the month of July at the Best Western Hotel in Nairobi CBD. That training was pivotal in helping me understand what investors are looking for and how to confidently approach them. Equipped with that knowledge, I applied for funding, and when I received it, I knew exactly how to put it to good use. The primary reason I sought the funding was to build a website for Posh Abodes, and I’m happy to say that the website is now underway. This is a major step for my business, as it will help me reach more customers and showcase my products online. In addition to the website, I was able to restock a wide range of items from local suppliers, which has boosted my inventory. But one of the biggest achievements has been making two shipments from China—a huge milestone for my business. Now, we’re able to import, which is something I’m really proud of. 

Being part of the KEPSA’s Jiinue Growth Program has taught me so much, and as a beneficiary, I want to tell other business owners to make their businesses official and get them registered. Having a financial partner can also be a game changer, and no one should be afraid to step into the business world. Most importantly, consistency is key—by staying committed, you stand a much better chance of gaining financial support and growing your business. This journey has been empowering for me, and I’m excited for what’s next for Posh Abodes.
