The Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goals (P4G) Global Director – Mr Ian De Cruz and Mr Andres Angel – P4G Senior Engagement and Fundraising Manager, engaged with the Kenya National P4G Platform Private Sector Focal Point/KEPSA, Ms Faith Ngige on 15th November 2022 on the sidelines of Conference of Parties of the UN Convention Framework on Climate Change (COP27) in Sharma El Sheikh, Egypt. The meeting focused on the state of P4G's first phase (2018-2022) and the priority focus areas for the next phase (2022- 2030).
P4G is a global platform that catalyzes and nurtures innovative business models for sustainable development. Since the installation of the Kenya National P4G platform, chaired by the National Treasury and Planning and Co-Chaired by KEPSA, Kenya has catalyzed and nurtured 15 partnerships that are implementing green business models in water, waste management, food security, industry and innovation and renewable energy at start-up and scale up stages.
The second phase of the P4G will focus on decentralized approaches to nurturing partnerships and will seek to involve the national platforms in the identification and selection of innovative green business ideas, aligned with country partnerships. This framework of the second phase of P4G will be unveiled before the end of the year.
The meeting was hosted at the South Africa Pavilion. Present at the meeting was Ms Reitumetse Molotsoane of the National Business Initiative – South Africa who also serves as the P4G Focal Point in South Africa. P4G has been a great catalyst of partnerships across countries and business associations in Africa to collaborate and innovate sustainable and resilient business climate solutions.
