KEPSA was represented by Eng. Patrick Obath – KEPSA Foundation Chairperson and Ms. Carol Warui – KEPSA Sports, Arts and Culture Sector Board Chair at the announcement of Absa Bank Kenya PLC's sponsorship of the 2024 Magical Kenya Open (MKO) tournament on Tuesday ,13th February 2024. KEPSA identified strategic collaboration opportunities with Absa and other stakeholders to maximize the impact of the MKO sponsorship, fostering partnerships that drive societal development and spur business growth.
During the event, Government officials expressed support for private sector partnerships in sports as the Kenya Open Golf Limited appreciated Absa's continued support and highlighted the tournament's socio-economic impact.
Absa committed KES 75 million to the event, emphasizing its dedication to promoting national development through sports. The sponsorship includes KES 55 million for the Local Organising Committee and KES 20 million for enhancing the tournament experience.
The MKO, scheduled from February 22 to 25, will feature global golfers, a golf event for the disabled, and a business conference aimed at attracting investors to Kenya. Absa's sponsorship underscores the tournament's role in showcasing Kenya's culture, talent, and economic opportunities.
