On 26th October 2023, a collaborative meeting was convened at the KEPSA offices, led by Mr. Victor Ogalo, Deputy CEO KEPSA, and Mr. Ritin Koria, a project specialist from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The objective of the meeting was to explore avenues for addressing the evolving needs of the Kenyan workforce and the future of work in the face of technological advancements and digital transformation.

The primary objective of the UNIDO-KEPSA partnership is to initiate a project aimed at mitigating the rising issue of youth unemployment in Kenya. This project seeks to align the skills of the youth with the specific demands of the industry. KEPSA, in alignment with its competitive agenda, intends to strengthen innovation, enhance business sophistication, and improve skills and labour market efficiencies.
It was unanimously agreed that UNIDO will actively work to align KEPSA’s proposed project areas with UNIDO's project objectives. Subsequently, UNIDO will provide comprehensive feedback to KEPSA, facilitating further engagements and strategic planning.
The meeting also included KEPSA representatives; Mr. David Ndwiga and Mr. Jeremiah Kiplagat – Policy Research Analysis, and Mr. Emmanuel Ochieng – Public Private Dialogue.
