An Overview of Therapeutic Hands Management Co. Ltd and its key focus areas
Therapeutic Hands Management (THM) is a Limited Company registered to operate in Kenya and train Caregivers using the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) Curriculum. We train our students to be highly qualified caregivers. The approach to training caregivers is holistic hence the caregivers have compassion, good communication empathy, caring and competence in their work. The training gives youth job opportunities both in the hospital and at home where a patient who has been discharged needs care as they recover.
THM endeavors to maintain professional relationships with clients to improve services continually, and to work closely with the government regulatory institutions for guidance on current requirements on the Curriculum. THM Caregiver graduates are already working in various places including in some hospitals, some take care of the elderly in the homes and others also provide care to the children. Others yet work in individual homes to provide healthcare and palliative Care.
THM MISSION: To equip Caregivers with high quality skills that enables them to safeguard children & adults at risk with empathy, love and respect.
THM VISION: To be a household name and a pace-setter in the caregiving global market, empowering caregivers with specialized skills that meet every client’s needs by God’s grace.
Therapeutic Hands Management is a story of two ladies, a nurse and an educationist who realized they had similar dreams of establishing a training place for Caregivers, this happened at the beginning of 2023. By July 2023 the classes of Caregivers started in New Waumini House, 3rd Floor.
THM has a management team that meets every week to review what has taken place during the week and plan for the next week’s activities based on the prevailing needs. The Management reports to the Board of Management which meets three times a year to look at the policies of the institution and the implementation of those policies in light of the governance of the institution. The main target for our training is those who have completed Form Four and have a passion for caring for people together with those who desired to take a nursing course but did not qualify for the course.
Major Milestones or achievements THM has celebrated
In the first year of operations, THM graduated 30 Caregivers and the following year 74 Caregivers graduated. In June of 2024, the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) evaluated and approved THM to be accredited by NITA and to be an examination centre for NITA Caregiver II Exams. THM has collaborated with 20 established hospitals that open their doors to trained caregivers for attachment and to have clinical exposure experience. Some hospitals have retained our Caregivers after the attachment period and offered them jobs yet a few of our Caregivers have managed to get job opportunities abroad.
