KEPSA Foundation was represented by Ms. Caroline Kawira in the 2023 Training Program for Women’s Economic Empowerment Policy Makers by the Republic of Korea from 14th to 25th October 2023. The program was facilitated by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and the International Women and Family Foundation and held in Seoul, Korea, and brought together participants from Africa, Asia, and America.
The program provided an opportunity to learn and experience the diverse interventions that can break gender barriers for equitable participation of women in all social areas and decision-making levels including at the workplace and in entrepreneurship from the Perspective of the Republic of Korea. Through the program, the participants benefitted from online and face-to-face training, site visits, and action plan development mentorship sessions. The sessions showcased the achievements from the model evolution of gender-related policies, their implementation, and the impact on gender equality and women empowerment in the country.
In the Republic of Korea, highly coveted Women-Friendly certification is undertaken for Institutions and cities that meet the Gender Equality and Women Empowerment set criteria and implement progressive initiatives that promote the participation of women. This certification not only seeks to acknowledge the organizations but also to incentivize them and activate greater gender responsiveness among all public and private institutions for a more equitable society.
KEPSA Foundation through the Women Empowerment and Childcare Pillar is aligned to the Women’s Economic Empowerment approaches and seeks to champion them amongst the private sector in Kenya.
