07 MAR KEPSA CEO MEETS GLOVO CO-FOUNDER ON PARTNERSHIP

On 2nd February 2022, KEPSA CEO Ms. Carole Kariuki met with Glovo co-founder Mr. Sacha Michaud who was accompanied by Ms. Priscilla Muhiu – General Manager, Glovo Kenya and Ms. Tokunbo Ibrahim – Public Affairs Manager, Glovo Sub-Saharan Africa. The meeting discussed areas of partnership between KEPSA and Glovo.
With a presence in 25 countries across the globe and 1500 cities, Kenya is Glovo’s Regional Hub in Sub-Saharan Africa. The company is looking into expanding further in Kenya with an interest in setting up a Tech Hub in Nairobi. This move will help SMEs and retailers as they will be able to digitize their businesses in:
- Marketing tools: By tapping into the already existing tools.
- Smart stock Management.
During the meeting, Ms. Kariuki noted that digitization is the next step for job opportunities while emphasizing on the importance of technology in value addition and market access.
The meeting agreed on the following:
- KEPSA to collaborate with Glovo to come up with an onboarding program to support SMEs in Ecommerce Booster Program II.
- STEM utilization to build businesses: KEPSA and Glovo will work together to support STEM and create value on the business side.
- Policies and regulatory framework: KEPSA to support the policy and regulatory concerns in the industry through PPD to ensure a conducive environment for e-commerce business.
- Envision the creation of an Artisan Platform that will encompass everything with a simple click of a button.
