On 22nd November 2023, KEPSA CEO Ms Carole Kariuki represented the private sector at the Development Partnership Forum (DPF) event that was held at the Deputy President's Official Residence in Karen, Nairobi. Discussions at the event focused on fostering stronger and more meaningful cooperation between Kenya and development partners.
DPF is a high-level bi-annual meeting between the Government and Development Partners and is chaired by Deputy President H.E. Rigathi Gachagua. It is aimed at reviewing progress and challenges in development in Kenya and establishes the strategic direction for better cooperation and coordination.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy President acknowledged the critical role of development partners in transforming the nation. He noted that the forum was meant therefore to align and consolidate strategic priority programmes and the requisite resources as per the Bottom-Up Economic and Transformation Agenda and the fourth medium-term plan (MTP IV). He added that the Kenya Kwanza Administration was deliberate in the implementation of the new partnership Coordination Architecture launched through the Joint Working Groups under the leadership of the relevant Principal Secretaries.
One of the major outcomes of the event was the agreement to form a private sector working group coordinated by KEPSA under the Joint Working Groups framework.
The Government was represented by Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and other top government officials.
