LEVERAGING KEPSA - NORWEGIAN AGENCY FOR DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION (NORAD) PARTNERSHIP TOWARDS JOB CREATION

KEPSA CEO, Ms Carole Kariuki held a meeting with Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) Senior Advisor Private Sector and Partnership, Mr Hans Corneliussen, on 2nd November 2023 at KEPSA offices. The objective of the meeting was to discuss potential areas of collaboration between KEPSA and NORAD, with a strong emphasis on job creation.
NORAD is keen to support the East Africa market with possible considerations for Ghana and Nigeria with a focus on job creation. The prospects for partnership are informed by the demographic dividend Africa has arising from the report recently prepared by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and NORAD that elicited the demographic dividend that the continent has, hence the need to rethink job creation for the youth population in the continent.
Ms Kariuki cited that such a prospect aligns with what KEPSA is doing regarding job creation, impacting digital job skills among the youth, and supporting SMEs. KEPSA sees substantial potential in supporting the country towards an export-oriented growth economy, leveraging high GDP contribution sectors like agriculture for job creation.
The meeting was also attended by Mr Ebenezer Amadi, Program Manager at KEPSA and Mr David Ndwiga, Policy and Research Analyst at KEPSA.
