KEPSA in collaboration with the Blue Company and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) held a consultative meeting on 22nd November 2022. The engagement sought to explore possible areas of partnership between the Blue Company, KEPSA and UNODC on the incorporation and implementation of the Global Integrity Education project in the private sector. This is a UN-Headquarters project funded by Siemens.
The meeting was attended by Dr Julius Kipng'etich, the Blue Company's advisory board member and Regional Group CEO, Jubilee Insurance; Ms Ann Karanu, Jubilee Insurance Human Resource Manager; Ms Juliet Otieno and Ms Anne Njoroge from the Blue Company Secretariat; Ms Gloria Ndekei, Executive Director, KEPSA Foundation; Mr Patrick Wandare, Legal Counsel, KEPSA, and Project Officer, Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE); Ms Princess Chifiero, Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer, UNODC; Mr Florian Lair, Associate Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer, UNODC; and Ms Jennifer Githu, Programs Manager, UNODC; Mr Dennis Miano, Lecturer, Dedan Kimathi University and UNODC Consultant.
The project, which is implemented in Kenya (the only country in Africa), Pakistan and Mexico, targets 20 companies and aims at having university students trained on ethics, absorbed into the respective companies for a period of time, and possibly retained as employees thereafter. The project will also offer training programmes on ethics for these companies.
