The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) has partnered with the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy to host the upcoming Connected Africa Summit 2024. This grand confluence of Africa's technology and innovation will take place from April 21st to 25th at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.
In a multi-stakeholder briefing led by Cabinet Secretary Mr. Eliud Owalo, FIHRM, EGH, today, he emphasized Kenya’s position as the regional digital hub, whose convening power will bring together the whole of Africa to showcase the potential of technological innovations and connectivity. He further acknowledged the private sector’s role in the summit, noting that it provides a strategic opportunity for the public, the private sector, and other partners to showcase Kenya’s technological advancements.
“We have made major strides with groundbreaking innovations, which other African countries will have a chance to benchmark. We also have much to learn from our peers who have gone before us. Therefore, this event sets the stage for unprecedented growth and prosperity, and your participation will play a significant role in shaping a connected future for Africa,” said the CS.
The Principal Secretary, Eng. John Kipchumba Tanui, MBS, added that this will be a “platform for conversations that positively impact the digital space and connectivity in Kenya and the continent.”
Hosted by The Ministry alongside The Kenya ICT Authority, this year’s Connected Africa Summit will serve as a strategic forum to chart a course toward a digitally empowered and interconnected future for Africa.
KEPSA’s collaboration in the Summit underscores the private sector’s commitment to accelerating investments in digital connectivity in Kenya and across Africa, creating job opportunities for the growing young and connected population. Some of the areas of focus will include:
The Summit will be graced by H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto, C.G.H, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Kenya. It also expects to host different heads of state, ambassadors and ministers, global thought leaders, policymakers, and change-makers, fostering valuable connections that drive collaboration, growth, and sustainable digital transformation policy-making. The Summit will have myriad activities, including Speeches, Panel Discussions, fireside chats, exhibitions, deal rooms, golf tournaments, and other networking opportunities for the private sector.
