On 5th November 2022, various KEPSA leaders joined the Government’s National Food Distribution drive in various parts of the country which have been adversely affected by drought. KEPSA, through the Pamoja Tuungane initiative, has continued to support the Government in providing aid to the hunger-stricken Kenyans.
The following KEPSA leaders took part in the exercise across the country:
Speaking in Turkana while flagging off food distribution in the county, President William Ruto appreciated KEPSA’s partnership and support to the Government in providing aid to the many Kenyans facing starvation. He further said that the government is seeking to raise an additional Ksh 10 billion to address the drought crisis affecting Kenyans.
“The government has released Ksh 4.5 billion while development partners have raised an additional Ksh 20 billion to help Kenyans facing hunger. Next week the government will meet the private sector and development partners to find ways of raising the additional resources required to address this issue." He said.
KEPSA is grateful to all its members who have continued to donate towards this initiative and even more to those who volunteered to take part in the food distribution exercise.
