KEPSA has led Kenya's business sector at the Breakfast Meeting hosted at the US Chamber of Commerce. KEPSA members featured in engaging panels, delving into strategies to optimize the abundant opportunities within the US market.
These included “Building Strategic Partnerships to Promote Investments between Kenya and US businesses”. This will help the Kenyan private sector access new markets, diversify both parties’ investment portfolios, reduce risk and exposure to market fluctuations, share resources, expertise, and best practices.
During the US-Kenya Business Forum in Washington DC, H.E. President Ruto reiterated the importance of the enduring partnership between Kenya and the US, highlighting the forum's role in leveraging opportunities to strengthen ties and enhance investments and trade relations.
Notably, he reflected on the recent AmCham meeting in Nairobi, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings in shaping outcomes and fostering confidence in the US-Kenya relationship.
In discussing the government's focus on value chains to boost productivity and create job opportunities, President Ruto underscored the crucial role of the private sector in providing a conducive environment for business operations. He emphasized that forums like this are vital for nurturing continued partnerships and fostering growth.
During a panel discussion with the U.S. Vice President H.E. Kamala Harris, President Ruto emphasized the transformative power of technology for Kenya's development. He highlighted Kenya's significant investment in education and skills training, emphasizing the importance of human capital as the cornerstone of economic progress. President Ruto showcased Kenya's successful adoption of technology in various sectors, illustrating its potential to drive efficiency and accountability in service delivery.
Likewise, Vice President Harris echoed the importance of investing in Africa's potential, recognizing the continent's demographic dividend and the opportunities it presents for innovation and economic growth. She stressed the need for continued collaboration between U.S. and Kenyan businesses to drive mutual prosperity, particularly emphasizing the depth of expertise within the private sector. Ambassador Whitman's acknowledgment of Kenya as a leading destination for startup capital further solidified the country's position as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
H.E President Ruto witnessed the signing of several deals during the forum, including partnerships with Google, HP with Equity Holdings, Acorn Holdings Limited, Marathon Digital Holdings, Siemens Healthcare India, RVO Healthcare Kenya, Redhill Cancer Center, and Microsoft. This demonstrates the commitment to advancing digital transformation, green infrastructure, healthcare, and technology in Kenya.
Later, KEPSA members joined President Ruto at a luncheon with Vice President Harris and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, further underscoring the importance of fostering bilateral economic ties and collaboration at all levels.
