INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY ROUND TABLE MEETING ON ESG REPORTING

On June 22, 2023, the International Chamber of Commerce – Kenya in partnership with Turkey Group, Singapore held a round table meeting on ESG initiatives, reporting and opportunities.
In his introduction, the chair Mr. Julius Opio noted that ICC-Kenya is commitment to be on the frontline in promoting discussion around ESG reporting, Green Financing and Carbon markets. He noted that the discussions will lead to the promotion of a sustainable planet for all.
In his remarks, Dr. Rakesh Rao emphasized Crown Paints' dedication to environmental protection, pollution prevention, effective waste management, resource efficiency, and overall environmental stewardship. The company believes that sustainability is crucial for sound business performance and offers quality products and services that promote the preservation of the natural environment. Crown Paints also engages with communities through strategic partnerships, aiming to provide durable products that contribute to a more sustainable operating environment while enhancing beauty.
Mr. Tony Wines highlighted Turnkey Group's aspiration to become a market leader in sustainability and ESG reporting. The company operates in three main areas: addressing corporate climate policies and reducing carbon footprints, managing relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring ethical decision-making and accurate compliance reporting. Turnkey Group has developed Sustainion, a flagship platform that helps companies meet ESG requirements. This platform empowers companies to monitor and analyse key data, optimizing their overall business performance and actively participating in building a better future for people and the planet.
In conclusion the chair of the Environment and Energy Commission Mr. Julius Opio noted that the roundtable exemplifies the growing importance of ESG initiatives and the shared commitment to sustainability among businesses.
