The PPD manager shall provide managerial and technical oversight to the PPD department. (S)He will be responsible for the delivery of the National Business Agenda and its annual workplans and line management of PPD staff.
The successful candidate will have:
Ability to engage with and maintain excellent relationships with all levels of counterparts in the national and county government institutions, as well as development partners and members.
Demonstratable understanding of the dynamics affecting private sector competitiveness
Demonstratable experience in bringing out the best in people through teaching, coaching,
mentorship and relationship management. A leader who has capacity for active listening, respect for all people regardless of gender, race or social class.
Ability to listen to and support PPD staff and KEPSA members in a sensitive and participatory manner.
Experienced and mature leader capable of working largely independently while remaining
connected with the team and sector leaders within KEPSA.
Capacity to collect information from multiple sources, synthesize and present solutions to
organisational, departmental and KEPSA member challenges.
Ability to work on multiple activities with multiple stakeholders and deliverables.
Well-developed oral and written communication skills in English and preferably also in Kiswahili. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders is key.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office including, word, excel, PowerPoint and an awareness of the data protection law and its guidelines.
Sound knowledge of protocol and event management
KEPSA PPD
The KEPSA PPD department is responsible for coordinating dialogue between KEPSA members, the Government and other partners on cross-cutting policy and legislative matters, to influence a conducive business environment and improve Kenya’s competitiveness.
FOCUS
Public-Private Dialogue with Executive, Legislature and Judiciary on cross-cutting issues that affect business efficiency and Kenya’s economic performance.
Develop and Implement competitiveness framework to track business efficiency and economic performance.
Support BMO’s to take up sector specific issues that affect business efficiency and economic performance
Annual & Quarterly development and review of departmental and personnel workplans.
PPD department and sector boards leadership and management.
Prioritization and analysis of cross-cutting member issues that impact competitiveness and business efficiency
Planning and co-ordination of PPD roundtable meetings
PPD programs management and compilation of related reports
Liaison between KEPSA’s executive leadership, PPD team and sector leaders
Develop and Implement a competitiveness framework to track business efficiency and economic performance.
Support BMO’s to take up sector specific issues that affect business efficiency and economic performance
Preparation and
publishing of quarterly cluster position paper
Liaise with Sector BMO’s to resolve sectoral issues.
