KEPSA will host the first Supplier Diversity Summit in Kenya on 29th May 2019 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi.
Supplier Diversity is a business strategy that ensures a diverse supplier base in the procurement of goods and services for any business or organization. This strategy is applicable in the Public Sector, Private Sector, development partners and Public Benefit Organizations (PBOs) and geared towards realization of KEPSA’s National Business Agenda, Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) initiative, Inclusive Business Framework and the United Nations Global Compact.
The two-day summit is designed to:
- Drive engagement in the development of inclusive and SMART policies and regulations in favour of supplier diversity for the mutual benefit of respective organizations and MSMEs in Kenya
- Put forth a diversified service delivery mechanism for the Big Four economic agenda towards achieving better structured and more focused engagement on AGPO
- Showcase leading private sector companies successfully implementing supplier diversity policies
- Develop and nurture a culture of inclusivity in supplier diversity in Kenya
The summit will bring together government, private sector and development partners to activate greater supplier diversification in driving inclusive business in Kenya. An inclusive business environment will ensure that women, youth and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) owned enterprises are accessing procurement opportunities at all levels.
