Last Thursday, KEPSA CEO Ms. Carole Kariuki was among the guests who participated in an event to honour and celebrate the legendary marathoner Mr. Eliud Kipchoge that was hosted by Ms. Rita Kavashe – Isuzu East Africa Limited CEO and KEPSA Advisor. The athlete was described as the embodiment of resilience, hard work and determination during the event.
Present at the event was the Japanese Ambassador to Kenya H.E Horie Ryoichi; Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development Hon. Betty Maina; Isuzu East Africa’s Chairman Mr. Hiroshi Hisatomi among others.
Mr. Kipchoge, who is commonly referred to as ‘the greatest marathoner of the modern era’, is the current marathon world record holder with a time of 2:01:39. He is widely known for the ‘No Human Is Limited’ slogan where he became the first human in history to run a sub-two-hour marathon in the city of Vienna, Austria in October 2019. His latest triumph is winning the Men’s marathon at the Tokyo Olympics in August 2021.
