On 10th September 2019, KEPSA engaged with the President – Global Business Alliance for Environment (GBA4E) and Emerging Ag, Ms. Robby Anderson and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Ms. Mumbi Munene at the KEPSA office. Emerging Ag. is the secretariat for the International Agri-Food Network (IAFN), the co-ordinator for the Private Sector Mechanism of the UN Committee on Food Security and the GBA4E.
The meeting focused on partnerships and opportunities for the private sector in Kenya to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Environment Process.
The GBA4E is a voluntary coalition of business actors who have come together to strengthen the voice of the private sector in the work of the UN Environment and at the UN Environment Assemblies. It is an active member of the Major Group process in the United Nations system.
During the meeting, it was agreed that KEPSA and GBA4E will work together to establish and encourage the greater private sector participation, strengthen the voice and presence of Kenyan businesses in the UN Environment processes.
KEPSA was represented by the Investments Manager, Mr. Timothy Odongo and the Environment Sector Board Public-Private Dialogue Officer, Ms. Faith Ngige.
