The KEPSA Gender and Youth Sector Board led by its Chair, Ms Eva Muraya, held its monthly meeting on 13th September, 2018 at KEPSA offices. The objective of the meeting was to focus on engendering the Big 4 Agenda and progress of its three key areas of focus namely; Board diversity, Supplier diversity and Youth engagement.
On the supplier diversity area, Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) Chair Ms. Mucha made a presentation on a planned international conference that will focus on empowering entrepreneurs under the theme ‘Bridging the gap and empowering businesses to go global’ and the sector board members were urged to take up such great opportunities. The sector board also plans to hold a two-day conference whose focus will be on capacity building suppliers on various business related aspects in 2019.
A presentation on Africa Venture programme, an annual Pan-African leadership programme which assembles exceptional emerging leaders from government, businesses and non-profits across Africa was made by Mr. Brian Oyaro, one of the programme beneficiaries. In his presentation he explained that the programme enables the transfer of knowledge, know-how and inspiration across the generations.
In conclusion, opportunities for collaboration among the sector board members was apparent following the discussions.
