The KEPSA Gender and Youth sector Board held its monthly meeting on 2nd June 2020 with an aim of transitioning the sector leadership. The meeting was led by the former chair, Ms. Eva Muraya, who passed the baton to the newly nominated chairperson and Vice-chairperson, Ms. Mucha Mlingo and Ms. Mercy Okiro respectively. The meeting also saw the transitioning of the Youth Sub Sector to the ICT Sector Board.
In her exit speech, Ms. Muraya, who is now a KEPSA Director, recounted her four-year journey as the Sector Board leader and committed her continued support to the sector efforts. She lauded the support of the members under the Supplier Diversity, Board Diversity, Youth Engagement & Entrepreneurship, GBV & Mental Health and Capacity Building sub-sector working groups who contributed to the success of the Sector Board.
On her part, Ms. Mlingo thanked the outgoing Chair for her leadership and steering the Sector Board and committed to collaborating with the members to advance the work of the Gender Sector while quoting the African Proverb, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’
