Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will hold a Master’s degree in economics, law, public policy, development economics, or any other related discipline with at least 8 years of experience since attaining the bachelor’s degree. The candidate should also have worked in the private sector, public sector, business organization or international organizations in public policy analysis and research positions for at least 5 years.
The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) is the apex body of the private sector in Kenya. KEPSA brings together local and foreign business associations, chambers of commerce, professional bodies, corporates (small, medium and large), start-ups and multinational companies from all sectors of the economy in the country, representing over 1 million businesses under one umbrella. The Alliance serves as a federation of over 90 Associations and professional bodies and is the focal point of the East Africa Business Council (EABC), which is the apex body of businesses in East Africa.
The Alliance enables its diverse membership of the business community to speak in one voice when engaging the Government, development partners and other stakeholders on cross-cutting policy issues affecting private sector development and engages in implementing programs that ensure the growth of businesses and the social-economic development of the country.

working closely with many partners from across the world.
Job Summary:
The Position is responsible for high quality policy research and analysis and development of presentations in assigned sectors and areas of focus guided by the KEPSA’s Strategy and National Business Agenda. To discharge this role, the position holder will have to work closely with the Public Private Dialogue Department.
Key Responsibilities
Undertakes initial policy research and analysis and special studies in various sectors and areas of focus in KEPSA with the aim to produce key advocacy outputs such as: policy briefs, policy papers, presentations and seminal papers for CEO, Board and Management.
Works with PPD Department to develop specific contents and policy proposals for the sector board meetings and public private dialogue platforms.
Assists Sector Boards in conceptualizing their advocacy issues and supporting them with well researched position papers.
Provides primary and secondary data and information required for business & market intelligence reports, economic & market surveys, regulatory and compliance research reports to be published by KEPSA.
Works in close collaboration with specific data providers in public and private sector to collects and collate primary and secondary data and information of interest to KEPSA.
Under guidance of Head of PRA Department, works with the team in the department to determine research agenda and objectives of the department based on KEPSA’s Strategy and NBA-4
Communicate effectively with other departments to get their input into all fundraising proposals and other documentation produced in the department
Administration of the day to day activities within the department.
Attends assigned sector board and PPD meetings for purposes of generating content for research agenda and helping to clarify policy matters.
