The MKenya Daima Steering Committee held a stakeholder breakfast meeting with the Media Owners Association at the Serena Hotel on August 11th 2016. The purpose of the meeting was to provide the media owners with a brief of the Mkenya Daima Campaign Phase IV initiative with the hope of getting a “buy in” on the elements of the media campaign that the initiative aims to push in order to achieve the objective.
2nd August 2016- The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) has launched a survey report on the impact of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) demonstrations witnessed recently on business.
The 17th East African Heads of State Forum was held on the 2nd of March 2016 in Arusha, Tanzania. During the Summit the Heads of State presided over the ascension of South Sudan into the community following the completion of the review process. During the summit the Heads of State also launched the new international East African E-Passport which will enable the free movement of citizens within the region. Use of the E-passport will commence on the 1st of January 2017 with the use of current EAC and national passports expected to be phased out by 31st December 2018.
